Metallica frontman James Hetfield an acoustic cover of Bob Seger for the annual benefit concert organized by VetsAid .
The initiative, which helps raise funds for veterans' groups across the United States, gained momentum thanks to James, who had previously performed covers of the song, as well as Eddie Vedder, Alice Cooper , and others.
“For the past three years, we’ve organized this glorious traveling circus in cities across the country with a full day of rock 'n' roll festival and activities to support our veterans and their families,” explains organizer Joe Walsh . “Typically, we would fill an arena, play for five hours, and raise a significant amount of money, around $1.5 million, to help our veterans get the support they need. But because of COVID this year, we’re going virtual like many others are.”
